About
Climb Puertos, score points, and discover Catalonia on two wheels. Speed doesn’t matter: what counts here are perseverance and the will to push yourself further. You have over a hundred passes and one year to conquer as many as you can.
Cazador de Puertos is a free and open source project created by VeniVidi cyclists for cyclists. It was born in 2016 as a simple web application to track mountain passes in Catalonia, and has since evolved into a comprehensive platform with a vibrant community of users. The project is maintained by volunteers who are passionate about cycling and technology.
How to participate
To participate, you need to create an account on this platform and log your ascents on Strava. The platform will automatically calculate the points you earn for each ascent and update your total score.
At the end of the year, the cyclist with the most points wins. There are also prizes for the top climbers in different categories.
Rules
The rules are simple: you have one year to climb as many Puertos as possible. Each Puerto has a point value based on its difficulty, and you earn points for each pass you conquer.
The difficulty of each pass is determined by factors such as its length, average gradient, and elevation gain. The platform uses a standardized scoring system to ensure fairness and consistency across all climbs.
You can score on each Puerto up to five times: the first climb gives full points, and each of the next four climbs gives 1 point, no matter the difficulty.
